The Rules

General Behavior & Details

- Respect everyone. Treat others like you want to be treated.

- Use of profanity, trolling, insulting other users, racism and illegal drug references are not tolerated here. Sure you can swear a little, but don't go overboard okay? There is a language filter. Please do not try to bypass it by using symbols.

- Inappropriate content within  avatars/signatures is not allowed, and will be removed. Please be reasonable with the size of your images as well; if your signature is over-sized you may be asked to modify it.

- Discussion of religion is prohibited everywhere except in the Debate Forum. Even then, you must abide by the debate rules.

- The sole requirement to staying a member on this forum is that you have some sort of connection to shine. Whether you reside there, have an alternate account there, or are simply visiting. Remember that this forum was created for the village of Shine and its villagers.

Posting

- Do not spam. Spam is essentially post(s) that do not add relevant content to a topic. Generally a first offense will lead to a verbal warning, and further offenses may lead to official warnings and bans if it becomes a concurrent issue.

- Make your post In the right sub-forum. Read the forum descriptions so you are aware of the purpose of each forum. If you are unsure where to post, feel free to ask a staff member.

- Don’t double-post! Double-posting is when a user's posts follow one another immediately - where the user decides to make another post rather than using the edit feature. There is an Edit-button for a reason, use it. You're allowed to necro-post if you think the thread is worth of bringing it back. But don't spam, your post has to have relevant content!

- Posting pornographic, illegal or generally offensive text, images, links, etc. will not be tolerated and will lead to a warning or potentially a ban.

- When you post a new thread, state in the title what the thread is about.

- Please don't use any other language other than English on the forum.

Warnings, Suspensions and Bans

- If you see any post that violates these all rules, there is a report button you can use to report it to the mods. It's the yellow exclamation point icon at the top of every post. Please don't abuse this feature.

- ShineHQ operates on a 5 warning policy. Generally your first offense will lead to a verbal warning. Further offenses will likely lead to official warnings and bans. After 5 warnings, the user will receive an official ban.

- If myself or another staff member feel that the particular offense requires harsher discipline, they are within their rights to increase the punishment or to skip ahead. Trolling and harassment in particular are two areas where the punishment may be more than the usual warning.

- Additionally, I reserve the right to ban anyone If I feel that they are not fit to contribute to this forum in a well-mannered fashion. This scenario is extremely rare, however.
