Appearance: Ryu is a tall slender man with an athletic figure but low muscle definition. His hair is kept very short with spikes coming up, and is a radiant white color with a tint of light blue. His eyes are Gray, and his attire consists of light brown basic ninja sandals with two straps, dark blue basic ninja pants outfitted with one pocket on the right for him to hold ninja tools, a pouch on his belt, a tight fit white T-shirt along with a long sleeve white jacket that extends 3 inches below his waist with one pocket on the each sleeve of the armor and a mask covering his mouth. Lastly, Ryu wears a red scarf that he never takes off.

Personality: Ryu is a soft spoken young man, and has always been independent. His manners are poor with new people and as such he doesn't base his respect on authority, family or rank. He is cold at times to people that he is fond of but also has a protectiveness that he doesn't show. Though he prefers to do things independently he has good teamwork skills, always putting the well being of his team before himself and playing to their skills and abilities before himself. He is a born leader, though he doesn't quite welcome his calling.

Bloodline Description: This bloodline grants the user several Ash/Smoke based abilities. In particular: movement, healing, and Ash/Smoke manipulation. Water-element jutsu are extremely effective against users of this bloodline, and will neutralize the effect of any offensive Ash/Smoke based techniques.

Initial Stage

The initial stage can only be activated for the first time in a stressful or life threatening situation, and is afterwards active by default. It grants them a number of different abilities:

1. The user is able to alter their own cells into Ash/Smoke at will.
   
2. The user can utilize their bloodline to warp nearly instantaneously with the Flying Ash Spirit technique, by de-materializing and then re-materializing. The distance is generally limited to about 15 meters per warp. The user must wait at least 3 seconds between warps.
   
3. The user is capable of infusing their chakra with any object or weapon.
   
4. The user gains the ability to heal wounds and scars by reforming tissue using Ash/Smoke. This takes a great deal of chakra, however.
   

Final Stage
This stage must be activated for the first time in a stressful or life threatening situation; it is not active by default afterwards. It must be activated to use it. Chuunin and above can use this Stage. In this Stage, the user displays complete mastery of their Ash and Smoke manipulation. The abilities granted by this stage are:

1. The user is now capable of using the Flying Ash Spirit to its full potential, and is no longer restricted to waiting between warps. They may now warp themselves continuously. This results in extraordinarily quick movement untraceable to the naked eye.
   
2. The user is capable of forming ash-based projectiles without the use of objects. They are fully capable of altering the size and number of the projectiles.
   
3. While using this stage, a cloud of smoke surrounds the user to create a shield. The shield may then be manipulated in terms of density, size, location and shape simply through the user's will. This creates a very formidable defense. This is the Smoke Release: Ash Shield Jutsu. 
   
4. Note: When the Ash Shield is active, any Lightning[Raiton] based attacks will be absorbed by the cloud of smoke. The drawback to this technique is that very dense smoke is impossible to see through, potentially limiting the user's field of vision.

Fighting Style: Ryu was trained to stay calm during combat, and think before acting instead of rushing right in. His main focus during combat is to put up a consistent defense while looking for holes in the enemy defense. Once Ryu finds a hole in the enemy defense he exploits it and goes on the offensive. His main asset during combat is his ability to move extremely quick.
